RICHMOND, VA, 1.30.2015 – Allianz Global Assistance USA has announced the winners of the 2014 annual “ScholarTrips” video contest. Created to give students the opportunity to travel abroad, Allianz Global Assistance and its travel agent partners donated over $90,000 in grants and insurance coverage to students across the country. Each of this year’s winners is being awarded a grant of $1,500 for travel expenses and is covered by Allianz Travel Insurance for the duration of their trip.
“At Allianz, we believe that traveling opens your eyes to the world and its different cultures,” said Joe Mason, chief marketing officer of Allianz Global Assistance USA. “And, we believe our “Scholartrips” program provides the funding for smart, creative students to do just that.”
All high school and college students who want to study or volunteer abroad were eligible to enter. The contest required applicants to submit a video detailing why they want to travel abroad and how they will benefit from such an experience. Video submissions were later reviewed by a panel of travel professionals who selected a group of ten candidates to be a part of the group of ScholarTrips’ student travelers.
